A white elephant app that runs in your browser
You don't need to install anything: this page is a white elephant app that runs in your phone's browser. Add the players and pick the steal limit; it draws the order, counts every steal, freezes gifts at the limit and undoes a wrong tap.
Who's playing?

Who went home with what:
The game stays on this phone. Close the page and it picks up where you left off.
What it keeps track of
- Whose turn it is, including who has to go again after a steal.
- Who holds each gift, and what each gift is, if you type it in.
- How many times each gift has been stolen, and which are frozen.
- The no-steal-back rule and player 1's last swap, if you use them.
- Every move, so Undo can step back one move at a time.
What it doesn't do
It runs on one phone, so guests don't follow along on their own phones, and it doesn't send invitations or roll dice. If you play over video, share your screen so everyone sees the turn.
Running it on the night
Charge the phone, set up the players before people arrive, and keep the page open. If the page closes, open it again: the game picks up where you left off.
Questions people ask next
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
It's a web page, so it runs in the browser you already have. There's nothing to download.
What if I close the page mid-game?
The game is kept in this browser. Open the page again on the same phone and carry on.
Can I play white elephant online with remote coworkers?
Yes, if one person runs the page and shares their screen on the call. Each player says open or steal when it's their turn.
